On The Spot

Nick - October 2001

What was it like to be a part of the Michael Jackson tribute concert?

Stacy - New Jersey

It was an awesome experience. He was such an influence on me growing up, to sing his songs live for him was a huge honor. Also, to sing with Usher and Luther Vandross was an honor as well.

I am going to ask the question that is on everyone's mind. Why did you color in your 98 Degrees tattoo?

Denise - Illinois

It was simply time for a change. The tattoo was a huge thing for me at the beginning of our career, but it just felt like it was time for something new on my arm. Also, I love red and black.

When you record in the studio, do you use the same band that tours with you (Ace, George, Rick, and Cassandra) or is it different musicians?

Chrissy - Hamilton, Ontario

Rick played the guitar on "Una Noche." We use other musicians most of the time though. Usually, the producer uses musicians that he feels particularly comfortable with.

I just started high school a week ago and I was wondering what high school was like for you?

Stacy - New Jersey

I loved high school. Those were some of the best years of my life. Going to a performing arts school gave me a chance to do what I loved while at school. I was also blessed with great friends in high school that I still see all the time now.

You are a very talented songwriter. If you had the chance to write for any singer/group, who would it be?

Stella - New York City

I'm a huge fan of Sade. To write a song for her would be a huge honor. Any legendary singer like Celine Dion, Mariah, Michael Jackson, Whitney cutting your song would be a huge honor.

Have you seen "Becoming" on MTV? How did you think the person who became you did?

Malisa - Burlingame, CA

I didn't see it myself, but I heard that the guy did a great job of being me in the video. I was flattered to have that done on MTV.

My brother just got married 2 months ago and my twin bro and I annoy the living daylights out of her. We love her though. Do you do anything to annoy Lea at all?

Bijal - New Jersey

I've known Lea about as long as Drew has, so she's truly like a sister to me. I give her a hard time all the time like any brother would to his sister.

Which game show did you like appearing on the best, Hollywood Squares or Millionare?

Hannah - Clarksburg, WV

I enjoyed being on Millionaire because I knew that the money went to charity. Being on that show was extremely nerve racking though. No one wants to look stupid on national television.

Which tour did enjoy the most, the "Heat It Up Tour" or the "Revelation Tour" and why?

Angie - Miami, FL

I enjoyed the Revelation tour more because it was our second big tour. I understood touring a lot better the second time around and I was a lot more relaxed because of that. Both tours were a lot of fun though.

This question has been driving me nuts since no one seems to know the answer! Whose voice (the girl) is it in the intro of the 98° And Rising CD?

Adz - Manila, Philippines

The girl is someone we pulled off the street in Times Square in New York at 2 o'clock in the morning. She had just gotten off work and we met her in the deli and asked her if she wanted to be on a record. She agreed and did the intro for us.

I'm asking this on the day of the attack of the WTC. Where were you when you heard about it? What was your reaction?

Tricia - Texas

I was actually in New York at Newark Airport when the attack happened. We were about to fly out to Cincinnati, but of course the flight was cancelled. We could see the WTC from the terminal at the airport. It was the most incredibly terrifying thing I have ever seen in my life. It was surreal to say the least.
